Short answer: Falmouth Week 2027 dates have not been announced. The last two festivals ran for ten days from a Friday in early to mid August: 8 to 17 August 2025 and 7 to 16 August 2026. Expect a carnival, sailing, live music at the Waterfront Marquee, an air display and fireworks. Check before you go and book refundable stays.
Falmouth Week is a ten-day August festival that grew out of a sailing regatta first held in the 1800s. It now mixes boat racing with a carnival, live music, an air display and fireworks. The organisers have not announced 2027 dates yet, so this page uses the recent pattern and says clearly what we do not know.
The 2027 dates are not yet confirmed. The last two festivals both ran for ten days from a Friday to the Sunday after the following weekend:
That points to the first half of August 2027, but the start date shifts with the calendar, so do not book non-refundable travel until the official dates are out. The Falmouth Week website is the place to check.
The programme changes each year, but the shape is consistent. Using 2026 as an example:
In 2026 the week included a 95% partial solar eclipse on 12 August, which will not repeat, so 2027 will be a more usual programme.
Some events are free and others are ticketed. In 2026 the Observation Wheel and Discovery Market ran in Events Square for all ten days, and free drop-in activities ran on The Moor, including circus workshops, a climbing wall and mini-golf. Gigs at the Waterfront Marquee were ticketed. Check the official site for prices.
The official viewpoints in 2026 were Falmouth Harbour, Events Square, Custom House Quay and Prince of Wales Pier. If the weather is poor, the fireworks have moved to the next night, so keep the Saturday free. Our free fireworks viewpoints guide covers good spots in town. For air shows and the Red Arrows, arrive early at Pendennis Point, which fills quickly, or watch from the River Fal banks, which are less crowded than the seafront.
The train is the easiest way. The Maritime Line runs from Truro to Falmouth Town station, the nearest station to the town centre. If Falmouth Town is closed, get off at Falmouth Docks. For drivers, our Falmouth parking guide covers the car parks. In 2025 the festival recommended Town Quarry and Well Lane car parks, and Church Street car park was closed from 4 to 20 August. Car park changes happen each year, so check the 2027 notice.
The Falmouth town page lists shops, cafés and more. For food festivals in Falmouth see our Falmouth Oyster Festival guide.
Everything below is from the 2026 programme, so 2027 may differ. Check the Falmouth Week site once dates are out.
For the beach day, Gyllyngvase Long Stay Carpark (TR11 4DP) has 3.7 from 25 Google reviews, with reviewers mentioning the app and a short walk to the sand. Gylly Beach Cafe has 4.4 from 3,600 Google reviews. For toddlers, see our Falmouth with a toddler guide.
Falmouth Week has not published a dog policy that we could find, so the answer depends on the venue.
Fireworks and air displays can frighten dogs badly. If your dog is nervous, plan to watch the fireworks from a quieter spot away from the harbour, or keep the dog somewhere calm indoors.
Not yet confirmed. In 2025 it ran 8 to 17 August and in 2026 7 to 16 August, so expect early to mid August.
Some events are free, such as drop-in activities on The Moor, and others like Waterfront Marquee gigs are ticketed.
Over the harbour. Official viewpoints in 2026 were Falmouth Harbour, Events Square, Custom House Quay and Prince of Wales Pier.
Take the Maritime Line from Truro to Falmouth Town station, or Falmouth Docks if Falmouth Town is closed.
They flew in 2025 on 13 August. Check the 2027 programme for any air display.
Not between 10am and 6pm. Cornwall Council's restriction runs 15 May to 30 September, so August falls inside it.
In 2026 there was a Family Day at Gyllyngvase with storytelling and a rockpool, and under 5s went free to the Monday family night. Check the 2027 programme.
It was open daily 10am to 5pm in 2026, with family activities for the week. Check 2027 hours and prices.
Indoor options include the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, which has 15 galleries under one roof.
