Looe Parking Guide: Where to Park When All Main Car Parks Are Full

2026-07-12·Looe

Looe's genuine popularity as a working harbour town brings real parking pressure in peak season, particularly close to the quay.

Arrive early for the harbour front

Parking closest to the quay and East Looe Beach fills fastest on a sunny day — before 9:30am gives the best shot.

Consider the train

Looe sits at the end of a genuinely scenic branch line from Liskeard, which sidesteps parking pressure entirely if you're staying somewhere on the network.

West Looe as an alternative

Slightly less pressured than the East Looe side, with a short, pleasant walk across the bridge into the main harbour area.

Combining with Polperro

If you're planning to visit both Looe and Polperro in one day, tackling Polperro first thing tends to work better given its own genuinely limited parking.

A note on tide times

Some of Looe's lower car parks can be affected by particularly high tides — worth checking current conditions if you're parking close to the water on a day with a big tidal range.

Weekday versus weekend

Parking pressure eases noticeably on a weekday outside school holidays, worth factoring in if your travel dates have any flexibility.
