Dog-Friendly Breakfast Spots in Bude

Short answer: Head for the beach cafés — Crooklets Beach Café and Rosie's Kitchen sit right on the sand, and an early breakfast slots neatly around any seasonal dog restrictions.

The short version

Bude is an easy town with a dog. Both town beaches have cafés on them, the canal towpath is flat lead-walking either side of breakfast, and most outdoor tables here see more dogs than pushchairs on a weekday morning.

On the beaches

• Crooklets Beach Café — on Crooklets itself. Outside tables face the sand; mornings are surfers, swimmers and dogs.
• Rosie's Kitchen — at Crooklets too, with Starboard alongside; the classic post-swim, dog-at-your-feet breakfast stop.
• Life's a Beach — above Summerleaze with the best elevated view of the two beaches. Worth checking the morning hours before relying on it, as they shift with the season.

In town and on the canal

• The Barge — on the canal itself; flat towpath walk, then coffee with the boats going past.
• The Weir Bistro — further up the canal towards the nature reserve; pairs with the longest of the flat walks.
• Olive Tree — the in-town option when the weather has turned; dog policies indoors vary, so ask at the door.

Timing around the beach rules

Summerleaze and Crooklets carry seasonal daytime dog restrictions in high summer, but they're daytime rules — an early start means a proper beach run and breakfast finished before they begin.
