Short answer: Dogs are welcome on Marazion beach except 10am–6pm in July and August. They can walk the causeway on a lead all year but are not allowed onto the Mount roughly mid-April to mid-September, and never into the castle or gardens.
Marazion is a good dog town most of the year and a slightly frustrating one for eight weeks in the summer. The rules are specific, so here they are.
Marazion Beach has a daytime dog ban from 10am to 6pm during July and August only. Early mornings and evenings in those months are fine, and the rest of the year the whole two-mile stretch is yours. If you're here in high summer and need daytime sand, walk west: the far end of Long Rock Beach, past the level crossing, stays dog-friendly all year. Signs at the beach entrances are the final word if anything changes.
Dogs on leads can walk across the causeway whenever it's open, and they can go on the boats. Whether they can go onto the island depends on the season: in the busy months — roughly mid-April to mid-September — dogs are not permitted on the island at all, and the Mount publishes the exact dates each year. Outside that window they're welcome in the harbour and village. They are never allowed in the castle, the castle grounds or the garden, so one adult stays below with the dog while the others climb.
Chapel Rock Café on the seafront takes dogs inside downstairs and serves breakfast from 9:30, which is rarer than it should be. moondog cafe and The Summerhouse Gallery both welcome dogs. For pubs, the bar at The Godolphin, Marazion with its view of the Mount, The Fire Engine with its beer garden and resident pub dog, and The Mexico Inn at Long Rock are all easy. At Perranuthnoe, The Cabin on the beach makes a real fuss of them.
