Dog-Friendly Polperro: Pubs, Cafés and Beaches

2026-10-15·Polperro

Short answer: Polperro is very dog friendly. The Three Pilchards lets dogs in "no matter how muddy their paws", the Ship Inn is dog friendly throughout, and the Blue Peter allows dogs in the bar. The Plantation Tea Rooms, House on the Props, Harbour Green House and Polperro Bakery all welcome dogs. The only catch: dogs are banned from Polperro's harbour beach from Easter Day to 1 October.

Polperro works well with a dog: no cars in the village, a stream to follow down, the coast path either side, and most of the pubs and cafés happy to have you.

Turntable Pizzeria and OXOX accept dogs (tell OXOX when you book). Couch's doesn't, apart from assistance dogs.

Can dogs go on Polperro beach?

Not between Easter Day and 1 October. This is a local rule, not one of Cornwall Council's beach bans. From 2 October to Easter, dogs are fine.

Walks

The coast path east to Talland and Looe is the classic: Looe to Polperro walk. The tuk-tuk from the car park also takes pets (April to October).
