Carnglaze is a former slate mine near Liskeard with an underground lake and woodland gardens above — and unusually for an indoor attraction, it's welcoming to dogs.
The woodland gardens and the walk up to St Neot's viewpoint are straightforwardly dog-friendly, and the caverns themselves are generally open to dogs too — rare for anything underground.
The caverns are cool, dimly lit and echoing. Some dogs take that entirely in their stride and others don't — worth an honest assessment of yours before you commit to the descent.
Tickets are a couple of pounds cheaper booked online than at the shop, which is worth knowing for a family visit.
Golitha Falls is a few miles away and genuinely one of the better free dog walks in Cornwall — the two together make a proper day.
