Lanhydrock's parkland is genuinely large and dog-friendly, but it's also one of Cornwall's busiest mountain-bike venues — something worth planning around rather than discovering mid-walk.
The purpose-built trails run through the woodland sections. They're well signed, but on a busy weekend you'll meet riders moving quickly.
The formal gardens, the beech avenue and the paths immediately around the house are calm and bike-free — and cover enough ground for a decent hour or two.
Weekday mornings are genuinely peaceful. Weekend afternoons in good weather are the busiest for bikes.
Interiors are assistance dogs only, as with most historic houses — so plan on splitting the group if the house is part of the visit.
