The Buttermarket, Redruth: Food, Opening Times, Parking

2026-10-15·Redruth

Short answer: The Buttermarket on Station Hill in Redruth is a restored Grade II market hall, reopened in 2024 after a £4m restoration by the community company Redruth Revival. Inside are street-food kitchens (including Cowgirls burgers), a coffee shop and Earles Bar, with shared seating indoors and out. Kitchens serve lunch most days Tuesday to Saturday and evenings later in the week; it's dog-friendly and a few minutes from the station.

For years the Buttermarket was a sad, half-empty corner of Redruth. A £4m restoration of its listed buildings, led by the community company Redruth Revival, turned it into the best thing to happen to the town in a generation: a food hall with independent kitchens, a bar, workshops and the monthly market.

When is the Buttermarket open?

Hours vary by kitchen and season. Broadly: the coffee shop opens from morning on weekdays and Saturdays; the kitchens serve lunch Tuesday to Saturday, with evening food Thursday to Saturday, when it's at its liveliest; the bar opens later in the week into the evening. Check the Buttermarket's own website before a special trip.

Is the Buttermarket dog-friendly?

Yes, though it gets loud on busy evenings, which some dogs won't love.

Where to park

Fair Meadow car park is right next door, run by Redruth Revival. The council car parks are a few minutes' walk and free after 4pm; New Cut takes cash. The station is a two-minute walk down Station Hill. See Redruth parking.

The first-Saturday market

On the first Saturday of each month from April to December, the Redruth Town Market spills into the Buttermarket from 10am to 2pm.
