Short answer: Redruth's council car parks charge 9am–4pm and are free from 4pm to 9am. New Cut (TR15 1AF) is short stay, three hours maximum, from 60p, and is the only one in Redruth still taking cash. For longer, Flowerpot Chapel, New Cut Extension and West End charge £1.30 an hour up to £7 for 24 hours, card or app only. The station car park is £4.80 a day on weekdays and £3.50 at weekends.
Parking in Redruth is easier and cheaper than in the coastal towns. The one thing to know: since 1 August 2026, most Cornwall Council car parks are cashless, and in Redruth only New Cut still takes coins.
In the evenings, yes: the council car parks only charge from 9am to 4pm, so they're free from 4pm until 9am the next morning, every day.
Run by APCOA, not the council: £4.80 a day Monday to Friday, £3.50 at weekends, 35 spaces. Handy if you're catching a train to Penzance or St Ives.
Fair Meadow car park, run by Redruth Revival, is right next to the Buttermarket.
Porthtowan's council car park (TR4 8AA) is free from 1 November to 31 March and still takes cash; in summer it's £2.50 an hour up to £11.50 for 24 hours.
