How the evening usually runs

• Gates around 5pm — arrive for the bonfire lighting and the fair rather than rolling up at show time; you'll get parked and placed without a fight.
• Main display around 7pm — early enough for school-age kids on a weekend.
• The fair runs through the evening — budget accordingly if you're bringing children, because they will notice it.

The family practicalities

• It's a field in November. Wellies, layers, and a torch for the walk back to the car are the difference between a great night and a moany one.
