Short answer: Paradise Park has indoor areas and the JungleBarn soft play. The RSPB hide at the estuary is covered and genuinely good in poor weather — birds are more active. Otherwise it's a lunch-and-shops day.
Hayle's appeal is the Towans and the beach, so rain hits harder here than in towns with more indoors.
The main option. There are indoor areas alongside the outdoor enclosures, plus the JungleBarn soft play which operates under its own rules — worth checking if that's the specific draw.
A large covered bird hide overlooking the estuary. Genuinely better in poor weather, when birds are more active and the hide is empty — and it's free.
Salt Kitchen Bar in the old Whites Warehouse is a beautiful granite building and a genuinely good place to sit out weather. The Terrace does Italian and steak from 5:30pm with a dog-friendly conservatory.
A farm shop with a restaurant, indoors and substantial enough to fill a couple of hours.
St Ives is ten minutes away and has Tate St Ives plus a dense run of galleries — a better wet-weather town than Hayle by some margin.
Paradise Park's JungleBarn soft play operates under its own rules and hours separate from the main park, so if that's the specific draw on a wet day it's worth confirming rather than assuming.
