If it's only drizzle, this short wooded valley walk to the coast is sheltered by trees for much of its length and genuinely lovely in soft weather.
Even without the castle, the walk down to the beach and back up is steep. In wet weather the path gets slippery, which is worth knowing before setting off with children or anyone unsteady.
