Short answer: There's no station in Padstow. The realistic routes are the bus from Bodmin Parkway or Newquay, the ferry across from Rock, or cycling the Camel Trail from Wadebridge. All three work, and all three beat trying to park.
Padstow's parking is genuinely difficult in season, and the alternatives are better than people expect.
A short crossing over the Camel Estuary, running frequently in season. Rock is easier to park in than Padstow, which makes this a genuine workaround rather than just a novelty.
A traffic-free former railway line from Wadebridge into Padstow — flat, well surfaced and around five miles. Bike hire is available at both ends. Genuinely one of the better ways to arrive anywhere in Cornwall.
Services connect Padstow to Bodmin Parkway station and to Newquay. Journey times are longer than driving, but you arrive in the middle of town rather than circling a car park.
Padstow is small enough to walk entirely. The harbour, the shops and the restaurants are all within a few minutes of each other.
This is the catch — Harlyn, Trevone and Constantine all need transport. Buses run in season but are limited, so a car-free trip works better for the town than the beaches.
Check last bus and last ferry times before settling in for an evening meal. Both stop earlier than you'd like, particularly out of season.
