Perranporth is genuinely one of the easiest Cornish towns to spend a full day in for very little money — its main draw, a vast free beach, does most of the work on its own.
Perranporth Beach is genuinely huge, free, and easily fills a full day on its own — rock pools around Chapel Rock, dunes to explore, and space enough that finding a quiet spot even in peak season is realistic.
If a beach-only day isn't quite enough, the coast path towards St Agnes is free, dramatic, and takes in old mining ruins — a proper addition to the day at no cost.
Ice & Bites does a reliable pasty for around £5, well suited to eating straight on the beach rather than needing a sit-down stop — genuinely one of the better value lunches in Cornwall given the setting.
A peaceful little garden doubling as a car park with direct beach access, free to enjoy and genuinely useful for orientation if it's your first visit.
An ice cream from Perran Dairy or Cornish Dairy Ice Cream runs a few pounds and is worth factoring in as the one genuine treat of the day if there's room in the budget.
