Beaches Near Tintagel With Easy Flat Access and Parking

2026-08-22·Tintagel

Tintagel's coastline is dramatic, which usually means steep access — here's what's actually manageable.

Trebarwith Strand

The most accessible option nearby, with parking relatively close and a gentler approach than most of this stretch of coast, though it does still involve some slope.

Where flat access genuinely doesn't exist

Bossiney Cove, Tintagel Haven, and the beach beneath the castle itself all involve steep steps or scrambles — genuinely beautiful, but not realistic for a pushchair or wheelchair.

The flat alternative: Glebe Cliff

If a beach specifically isn't essential, the walk out towards St Materiana's Church along Glebe Cliff is properly flat and gives dramatic coastal views without any beach-access steps at all.

Parking realistically

Trebarwith's car park is properly popular and fills on a sunny day — arriving before 10am gives the best chance.

St Materiana's Church as a destination

The church at the end of the Glebe Cliff walk is worth the visit in its own right — a proper destination rather than just a turning point to head back from.

Toilets and facilities on this route

Facilities are limited along Glebe Cliff itself, so using the village's toilets before setting out is worth building into the plan for a longer visit.
