There is no council fireworks display in Truro this year. Truro City Council cancelled its 2025 Bonfire Night at the last minute, after police concerns about traffic gridlock at the old Tremorvah playing field and a failed attempt to move it to the Cattle Market, and has since confirmed the display will not run in 2026 either, citing the cost of staging it safely. The council says it wants to bring it back in a future year. Until then, this page is about where to go instead.
Truro's own fireworks are on New Year's Eve, when the city council's midnight display over the river returns, and the Christmas season starts on the first Saturday of the Christmas market in late November with the city lights coming on.
