Short answer: For fish and chips in Mevagissey, the Fish Grill & More van on Jetty Street cooks fish to order (get the trio with scallops; closed Sundays), the Fishermen's Chippy on Olivers Quay is the traditional harbourside chippy, and Ben's Plaice on Market Square is the one for gluten-free. For something different, the Harbour Catch does lobster wraps and scallops on the harbour wall.
A street-food van that fries or grills fish to order. Reviewers call it the best fish and chips they've had in Cornwall; the trio of fish, with scallops, is the order. It's not fast, because it's cooked fresh. Closed Sundays.
The traditional harbourside chippy: flaky cod, crisp chips and homemade tartare sauce. Take it to a bench on the quay and keep an eye on the gulls.
A fish and chip shop where much of the menu is gluten-free, which makes it the one for coeliacs. Also loaded fries.
Not a chippy, but a seafood hut on the East Wharf doing lobster wraps, scallops, mackerel and hake, with views over the boats.
The quay benches, or the harbour wall. The gulls here are experienced: eat with your back to a wall.
