Cornish Pirates Home Games Dec 2026 to Feb 2027

2026-10-21·Penzance

Short answer: The Cornish Pirates play five home games at Mennaye Field, Penzance, between December 2026 and February 2027: Hartpury (Sat 5 Dec), Ampthill (Fri 18 Dec, 7.45pm), Worcester Warriors (Sat 2 Jan), Rotherham Titans (Sat 6 Feb) and Bedford Blues (Sat 20 Feb). Terrace tickets are listed at £20 adult, with under-16s free on the terrace.

If you want a proper local sporting day out over winter, the Cornish Pirates are hard to beat. The club plays at Mennaye Field in Penzance, a compact ground a few minutes from the sea front, and the crowd is friendly and close to the pitch. Here are the five home games between December and February, with what you need to know to go.

When are the Cornish Pirates playing at home?

These are the home fixtures listed on the club's fixtures page for the window. Kick-offs can move, for example for TV or weather, so check the page nearer the date.

The 20 February game falls inside the February half-term week (13 to 21 February), which makes it an easy one to add to a family trip. The 2 January game is a good post-Christmas outing if you are staying in west Cornwall.

How much are Cornish Pirates tickets?

The club's tickets page lists these match prices (adult, child, concession):

The page does not define the child age limit for the stands, so confirm before you buy. Under-16s get a free terrace ticket, and Truro and Penwith College students pay £5 for the terrace at the gate with proof. Concessions cover registered disabilities, full-time students, armed forces, emergency services and NHS staff, and you need photo ID. Match tickets are sold online through the club's ticketing page (cornishpirates.ticketco.events), and terrace tickets can also be bought at the gate. At recent games the club has also offered 20% off for Blue Badge holders, serving forces, blue light and NHS staff when bought online, so ask when you book.

Tickets have been digital in recent seasons, so you scan from your phone rather than collect anything. If you buy on the gate you get a stamp to show you have paid. Stands do sell out for the bigger fixtures, so book the grandstand early. The ticket office phone line is 01736 331961.

Where is Mennaye Field and where do you park?

The ground is at Westholme, Alexandra Road, Penzance, TR18 4LY. There is no public car park at the ground itself, only limited disabled parking on a first come, first served basis, and the club asks supporters to be considerate to residents. The club's travel page suggests these options:

Coming by train, Penzance railway station is a 10 to 15 minute walk. Follow the shoreline west until the Beach Club Hotel, turn right into Alexandra Road, and the ground is a short way along on the left. Taxis wait at the station. See our guide to what is open in Penzance in winter for somewhere to eat before or after.

What is match day like for visitors?

Based on the club's supporter information for recent matches, gates open about two and a half hours before a Saturday kick-off, and there are food vans inside the ground, pasties on sale and a bar in the hospitality marquee. A club shop opens in the car park before the game, at half time and for 30 minutes afterwards. The match programme goes online about three hours before kick-off. Check the club's supporter information post for each game, as the details change from match to match.

The ground gets a lot of wind off Mount's Bay in winter. The terraces are open, so waterproofs matter more than a thick coat, and a hat is a good idea for the Friday evening game. Mennaye Field is small, so you are never far from the action, and reviewers on Google praise the atmosphere and the fair food prices there (4.6 from 65 Google reviews).

Can you watch the Pirates if you cannot get to Penzance?

Some matches are shown free to air on the Clubber and England Rugby YouTube channels, with the link appearing around 30 minutes before kick-off. Whether a particular game in this window is streamed is decided closer to the date, so check the club's match preview for each fixture.

If you are building a Penzance weekend around the game, the Penzance guide covers the town, and Montol and the Mousehole lights covers the December events that sit either side of the 5 and 18 December fixtures.

Is Mennaye Field accessible for wheelchair users and Blue Badge holders?

The club's supporter information for a 2025/26 home game gives the most recent guidance we could find. For that match, disabled viewing access was via Gate 4 and undercover, and the club said disabled parking was limited and first come, first served. Blue Badge holders got 20% off plus a free companion ticket, arranged by phoning the ticket office on 01736 331961.

Those details were for one fixture, and the club writes a new supporter page for each game, so confirm for yours. Call the ticket office a few days before and ask about the viewing area, companion tickets and where to park. We have not found step-free route details for the terraces, accessible toilet locations or a written wheelchair policy, so we cannot say more than that.

Because the club's own disabled parking is small, it is worth having a plan B. Street parking near the ground was free at that match, with a request not to block driveways or grass verges. Our Penzance flat access guide covers step-free routes in town.

Where should you park for a Cornish Pirates game, and is it free?

Beyond the Promenade car parks in the section above, two details from the club's supporter information may save money. Street parking around the ground was free at the 2025/26 game we read about, but the club asks fans not to block driveways and to be considerate to residents. If you park on a residential street, be considerate and leave some margin for the walk.

The Wellfields Car Park at the Penlee Centre is rated 4.4 from 48 Google reviews. One reviewer said it cost £2.50 for the day, takes cash only and was free on Sundays. Prices change, so check the machine. For a Friday night game it is open 24 hours, per its listing.

The larger Harbour Long Stay Car Park is rated 4.1 from 402 Google reviews, and one reviewer said a 24-hour ticket cost £11.50, which is a lot for a rugby afternoon. It is best if you are also catching a train. The club also gives gate details: Gates 2 and 3 sell terrace tickets by card or cash, and Gate 4 is for hospitality, season ticket holders and advance ticket holders.

Where can you eat and drink near Mennaye Field?

Inside the ground, the supporter information for a recent game named Roseworthy Farms food vans, Rowes pasties and the Yeomans Hospitality Marquee with an outside bar. Gates opened at 12.30pm for a 3pm Saturday kick-off, which leaves time for lunch outside first.

For children, one Google reviewer of the club described it as family friendly and reasonably priced. Under-16s have a free terrace ticket, as noted above. The stands and terrace cover is not described in the pages we read, so check before choosing seats in a forecast of rain. For more food, see wheelchair accessible cafes in Penzance.
