Short answer: The Fowey Christmas Market is not running in 2026. Its official website now says the event has been cancelled, and listings describe it as paused for 2026 with the organisers hoping to return in 2027. The nearest alternatives in early December are the Padstow Christmas Fayre (3–6 December) and Lostwithiel's free Dickensian Evening (Thursday 10 December), 15 minutes from Fowey.
Updated 19 October 2026: we previously listed the market for 4–6 December 2026. The organisers' website now shows "This event has been cancelled", so please don't plan a trip around it. We'll update this page if anything changes.

Yes, just for a different reason. Fowey out of season is quiet and lovely: the harbour to yourself, log fires in the pubs, and the Hall Walk from Bodinnick to Polruan on a clear day. See what's open in Fowey in winter before you go, as some places shorten their hours.
Fowey's streets are mostly closed to non-residents and there's no parking in the middle of town. Use the car park at the top of town and walk down, or park at Bodinnick and take the Bodinnick Ferry across as a foot passenger. Full details: Fowey parking guide.
