Short answer: Fowey holds its Christmas market over a weekend in early December — stalls through the town, food, music, and the lights switch-on on the Saturday evening. Parking in Fowey is tiny; park at the top of town or come across on the Bodinnick ferry and walk.

Fowey's Christmas market runs over a weekend in early December: stalls along Fore Street and the Town Quay, local food and drink, crafts, carol singers, shop windows dressed for it, and the switch-on of the town lights on the Saturday evening with the harbour as backdrop. It's an unusually pretty setting for a market — narrow streets, the water at the end of every alley — and the town's independents make an effort.
2026 dates: not yet announced — the first or second weekend of December in recent years. Fowey Town Council and Fowey Christmas Market's own page confirm. We update this line the moment organisers confirm.
Fowey's streets are mostly closed to non-residents and there's no parking in the middle of town. Hanson Drive Car Park Fowey at the top of town is the main one and fills by late morning on market days; from there it's a steep walk down (and up). Better: park at Bodinnick on the far side of the river and take the Bodinnick Ferry across as a foot passenger — five minutes, arriving right in town, and the lights from the water are the best view there is. Or park at Polruan and use the passenger ferry.
Fine, with the caveat that Fowey is steps and slopes — a carrier over a pushchair. Dogs are welcome on the streets and in most of the pubs. The Saturday evening switch-on gets busy on the quay; it's a small town, so it all happens within a few hundred yards.
