October Half Term in St Agnes With Kids

Short answer: Cornwall's half term is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026. In St Agnes, mix the free St Agnes Museum (leatherback turtle, kids' activity sheet) with the 1-mile Wheal Coates walk, rock pooling at Trevaunance Cove or Trevellas, the animals at Healeys Cyder Farm and a hedgehog ice cream at Chapel Porth, if the café is still open.

Half term is the last lively week in St Agnes before winter, and it's easy with kids: short walks, rock pools, a free museum and plenty of good food.

Outdoor bankers

• The Wheal Coates walk: 1 mile round the engine houses, with zig-zags small legs can manage. Hold hands near the cliff edges.
• Rock pooling at Trevaunance Cove or Trevellas Porth around low tide.
• Chapel Porth at low tide, when it's a mile of sand. Check the tide: it's easy to get cut off.
• St Agnes Beacon for a short, steep climb and a big view.

When it rains

• The free St Agnes Museum: the leatherback turtle is a hit, and there's a kids' activity sheet.
• Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm: free entry, farm animals and tractor rides.

For older kids

Coasteering with Coastal Rush round Trevellas (around 11 and up), or a surf lesson with Breakers Surf School. Surfing in St Agnes.

Family food

• Genki: kids' menu and a garden.
• The Greenroom: books and toys.
• The Cornish Pizza Company: takeaway pizza, Wednesday to Saturday evenings.
• A hedgehog at the Chapel Porth Beach Café, if it's still open for the season.

The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October, so it's dark by about 5pm: beach in the morning, indoors after lunch.
