Halloween in Cornwall 2026: Family Events by Date

Short answer: Two big confirmed ones: Halloweden at the Eden Project runs 24 October to 1 November (included with admission, ice rink from 17 October), and Bodmin Jail runs Halloween all month — Haunted Gallery from 1 October and a family Trick or Treat Trail from 17 to 31 October, both included with entry.

Halloween is Saturday 31 October — and it's half term

Halloween 2026 lands on a Saturday at the end of half-term week (26–30 October for most Cornish schools), which is why the county's big attractions run their programmes across the whole fortnight. Here's what's confirmed, with dates, and what's still to check.

The confirmed big two

• Halloweden at the Eden Project — Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, 10am–5pm. Included with admission, but pre-book your visit. The ice rink returns from 17 October and runs to 21 February 2027. Details on Eden's Halloweden page.
• Bodmin Jail — all of October. The Haunted Gallery exhibition runs 1–31 October and is included with Jail Entry; the family Trick or Treat Trail (games, puzzles, prizes) runs every day from 17 to 31 October, also included; the usual guided tour becomes the Halloween Go Darker tour for the month; and Late Entry runs 19–31 October. Adults-only: the Banged Up party on 30 October and a paranormal night on the 31st — check age limits. Tickets on the Jail's events page.

Also running Halloween programmes

These confirm their own dates, so check before you go: the Bodmin & Wenford steam railway (listed as running a Spook Steam event over half term), Newquay Zoo, Flambards near Helston, Pendennis Castle (English Heritage's Halloween quest), the National Trust's Trerice and Trelissick, the Cornish Maize Maze, and Newquay's town-centre Spooky Newquay events. If your half-term base is near any of them, their event pages are worth a look in the first week of October when the last details land.

Picking by age

• Under 6: Halloweden — daytime, gentle, indoors when it rains — or the Jail's Trick or Treat Trail on a quiet weekday morning.
• 6–12: either of the big two; the Jail's Haunted Gallery is atmospheric rather than terrifying, but know your child.
• Teenagers: the Jail's Go Darker tour and Late Entry — properly dark.
• Adults: the Jail's 30 and 31 October nights.
