October Half Term in Wadebridge With Kids

Short answer: Cornwall's half term is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026. From Wadebridge: hire bikes for the flat Camel Trail (Bridge Bike Hire is open all year), catch Pencarrow House's last week of the season (open daily except Saturday until 30 October), use the leisure centre's pool and soft play on wet days, and paddle at calm Daymer Bay.

Wadebridge is a brilliant half-term base: flat cycling, a cinema, a pool and calm beaches, all within 20 minutes.

When is October half term 2026?

Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026 for Cornwall Council community and voluntary-controlled schools; academies may differ.

Outdoor bankers

• The Camel Trail: flat and traffic-free. Wadebridge to Padstow is 5.5 miles; little legs can do a shorter out-and-back. Ask the hire shops on Eddystone Road about children's bikes and trailers when you book.
• Pencarrow: gardens, a play area with a Wendy house by the Peacock Café, and house tours. Open every day except Saturday until 30 October, so half term is your last chance this year. Dog friendly.
• Daymer Bay: calm, shallow estuary water for paddling.
• The Rock ferry to Padstow and back. From 26 October the last one leaves Rock at 4:45pm.

When it rains

• Wadebridge Sports & Leisure Centre: pool and soft play.
• The Regal Cinema on The Platt.
• Little Cocoa: play rooms for under-fives.
