Short answer: Tom Bawcock's Eve is held in Mousehole every 23 December, which in 2026 is a Wednesday. The village celebrates the fisherman who, legend says, braved a storm to save Mousehole from starving: there's a lantern procession, carols on the harbour, and stargazy pie (fish heads poking through the crust) at the Ship Inn. The harbour lights are on too. The 2026 start time hasn't been published.
Of all the Christmas traditions in Cornwall, this is the most Cornish: a village feast for a fisherman, a pie with fish staring out of it, and a harbour full of lights.
