Short answer: The Sharksfin on the quay does the best-documented Sunday roast in Mevagissey: Cornish beef, 12-hour pork belly or chicken at £23, a nut roast at £20 and a kids' roast at £10, with Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese; book online. The Fountain Inn does roasts on Sundays only and is dog friendly, and the Rising Sun at Portmellon has sea views (reviewers say order the chicken).
A harbour walk, then Sunday lunch looking at the boats: Mevagissey does this well.
The harbourside restaurant on The Quay (4.5 from almost 2,000 Google reviews). Its September 2026 menu lists:
All with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, roast roots, greens and swede and carrot mash. The website says roasts are served 11:30am–3pm; Google lists Sunday from 12pm, so book online and check the time. Reviewers love the harbour-view tables; one found portions small for the price.
A St Austell Brewery pub on Cliff Street (4.6 on Google), with "roasts only on Sundays" according to CAMRA, and a dog-friendly house. Reviewers also rate its fish and chips and Alfie the resident cat. Book on 01726 842320; one reviewer found food stopped early on a quiet afternoon, so call ahead.
On Fore Street, under new owners in 2026 and getting good reviews: "Amazing roast dinner at the Ship today," wrote one in September. Dog friendly: staff pointed one couple straight to a dog bowl.
The pub on Portmellon Cove, a short walk south, with window seats over the water. Reviewers praise the crispy roast potatoes and "best cauliflower cheese", but recent reviews are mixed on the beef, so the tip is to order the chicken. Book online or on 01726 473214. Dogs in the bar, not the restaurant.
Polgooth Inn (4.7 from over 2,300 reviews) serves food daily including Sundays and is very dog friendly; check the roast when you book.
The Kings Arms on Fore Street is closed on Sundays and opens Thursday to Saturday by appointment only.
