Chapel Rock Café is the big, bright seafront café-restaurant by the causeway, doing fish and chips all day alongside breakfasts, with dogs welcome. It's the reliable option rather than the romantic one — and when you've just walked back from the Mount with wet feet, reliable is exactly right.
On a still evening, the beach wall is better than any table: the Mount, the bay, and nothing between you and the sunset. Just mind the gulls, who know that wall well.
