Where to Get the Best Ice Cream in Marazion

Short answer: Ruby's on Market Place is the proper parlour, with some genuinely interesting flavours (card only); Jordan's Café by the beach does ice cream alongside coffee and paninis. Either way, eat it facing the Mount.

The two stops

• Ruby's Ice Cream — takeaway ice cream on Market Place with a few genuinely interesting flavours beyond the usual. Card only. The trick locals use: walk down the alley opposite to the beach and eat it looking at the Mount.
• Jordan's Café — the family-run beach café in the station car park between Marazion and Long Rock, doing ice cream alongside big paninis and proper coffee. The easy pick if you've parked at that end.

The view is the point

Marazion's whole reason to exist is the view of St Michael's Mount — so eat facing it. The beach wall by the causeway gives you the island front and centre, and on a falling tide you can watch the causeway emerge while you finish your cone. It's the cheapest front-row seat in Cornwall.

Time it with the tide
